How to get to Venice

To get to Venice, one of the most convenient ways to get to Venice is train, which comes directly to the heart of the historic center.

In plane, Tessera airport and is about 30 minutes by boat or taxi from the historic center.

For cars it's more complicated. Neither cars nor motorcycles, nor bicycles or scooters can circulate in the historic center of Venice. If you choose the car, know that you will have to park it on land in Mestre (our advice is the car park in Via Orlanda, which you can contact at 0415312441), or at the Tronchetto or Piazzale Roma car parks.

During busy periods, such as Carnival or the Feast of the Redeemer, it is advisable to book a parking space in advance.

They also exist tourist passes that combine entrances to museums and navigation in the historic center. You can find them here.

The taxi

Direct arrival a few meters from home: it's the most convenient option, but also the most expensive.
Find Taxi stops in Piazzale Roma and in front of Santa Lucia station. To book a motorboat taxi in Venice (water taxi), you can go directly to the piers (municipal or private stations), call radio taxis (such as the 041.59.64 Or the 199 48 49 50) 24/7, or use more modern services such as Uber Boat (integrated into the Uber app) to rent a motorboat with driver, ideal for specific routes such as the airport.

Consider that from the station the fare is about €80, from the airport about €150.
